Have you ever wanted to send someone an email but could not for the life of you find their email address? Hours of searching (or guessing and checking) for that one obscure email only left you exasperated and disheartened. You seemed to have discovered every other piece of relevant (and not-so-relevant) information about that person, but it didn’t bring you any closer to contacting them than before you started your quest.
The fact is, the more important that a person is, the more difficult it is to find their email address.
Should you throw in the towel? Absolutely not.
Sure, there are the conventional ways of finding emails, such as searching that person’s own website or social media pages, but what happens when these don’t work?
By using the following 14 tricks you will not only be able to track down these difficult email addresses, you will be able to do so in under 60 seconds!
Now that’s worth a try, wouldn’t you say?
Every now and then, it really can be that simple. Combing the target domain, name of the person, or specific keywords in search operators can work like a charm. If the relevant person’s contact details are published on the domain, operator shortcut should instantly provide you the page you are looking for, along with contact information that you want. Start by searching like so:
- [name] + email address (or) email
- [name] + contact information (or) contact me (or simply) contact
If finding your particular email address is proving a bit more troubling, getting more creative with Google search operators may yield more fruitful results. For example:
- site:companywebsite.com + [name] + contact
- site:companywebsite.com + [name] + email
For most important people, these searches likely won’t yield anything. But since it is free, quick, and easy, it definitely won’t hurt to try your luck!
2. LinkedIn Connections
With over 450 million members worldwide, LinkedIn is a superior way to connect with others. Keep in mind, just because you are connected with a prospect does not necessarily mean that you have their email address in your Google Contacts List. Head on over to LinkedIn’s advanced settings to export your connections, which will give you up-to-date email addresses right in your inbox.
By creating a free account with Hunter, you will be able to find the addresses of those who are the most relevant in your niche, in just a matter of seconds. By pooling all of its data together (email formats, email addresses found on the web, verifications, and other signals) this process is able to generate the right contact in just a matter of seconds. You get up to 100 free searches every month but plans range anywhere from $39 for 1,000 requests to $319 for 50,000 requests.
4. Advanced Twitter Search
People are asking for and sharing email on Twitter ALL. THE. TIME. You can use Twitter’s advanced search to discover the most recent time that your contact responded to such a request.
A. Search for the terms (at) (dot) in “All these words” under the “Words” section
B. Enter their Twitter handle in “From these accounts” under the “People” section
Pro Tip: No need to search for the actual word “email” while using Twitter’s advanced search option. If you do, you will end up having to sift through a long list of tweets on the topic of email, NOT actual people’s current email addresses.
5. All My Tweets
By using All My Tweets you will be able to quickly and easily see all tweets from any Twitter use on one page. When trying to find the email address of your prospect, use CTRL+F and then search for the keyword “email” or “@examplesite.com” This is extremely valuable because it saves you a lot of time you would have otherwise spent scrolling through their Twitter page.
