10 Tips for Highly Successful Salespeople in an AI-Powered World

In the modern sales environment, leveraging AI tools can be incredibly beneficial. Yet no matter how powerful technology becomes, there is still a place for real human connection in sales. In this blog, we’re going to explore a few tips for how you can be successful in an AI powered sales world.

How did we develop these tips? It’s simple: by using AI in today’s sales environment internally, and as a partner to our customers. Throughout everything, we’ve worked to develop AI solutions that support human connection and conversation. These guidelines are rooted in our decades of experiences and expertise. 

Without further ado, here are 11 tips that we believe should guide decision-making in a sales environment that’s being transformed by artificial intelligence. 

  1. Educate yourself. It’s your responsibility to understand these new tools, including how they work, potential risks, and new opportunities.
  2. Prepare yourself. We’re living through a paradigm shift. Now is the time to prepare for change and design a strategy that reflects the new reality.
  3. Develop the proper tools and skills. Only you can know what that means for your business. Know that both service providers and solutions like Calldrip exist to empower you with the right tools and skills.
  4. Understand what works - and what doesn’t work. Experimentation and flexibility will be key to learning what works for your business. Not every new AI widget will be a win.

  6. Learn from experience. Change often brings discomfort. Navigating big changes with respect and ease is all about being intentional, and learning throughout the process.
  7. Proactively make changes to get the result you want. The world is changing, and we need to change with it in order to achieve our growth goals.
  8. Focus on building trust. As AI-generated content and media becomes more prevalent, it’s likely that people will question what they can trust. As a salesperson and a brand, it will be important to prioritize building trust and being authentic.
  9. Center your humanity. For all that AI can do, there’s one thing it can’t do: be human. It’s key to center your humanity, by focusing on experiences, new ideas, and even owning your mistakes. 
  10. Balance your team and technology.  To be successful with AI, you need to focus on bringing your tech stack and your team into alignment. It’s a balancing act! This technology can be a powerful force for good, but we need to be aware of the risks, too. We as an industry need to find a way to use AI and automations that enhance relationship building and sales processes. If the industry can do this, the future is very bright. On the other hand, we could quickly see an end of sales as we know it.”
